Only pre-formed ensembles (Trios, Quartets, Quintets, Chamber groups with piano etc.) will be accepted for Full-Time Chamber Music.
Full-Time Chamber Music occupies all three formal sesssions. Part-Time groups rehearse in session 1. (See page 3 NB 1 and b)
Players are free to choose their own repertoire. They should provide their own parts and a full scores.
The Coull Quartet has performed and broadcast extensively world wide. In the UK the Quartet has appeared at most of the major music societies and festivals, and gives an annual series of recitals at the renowned Warwick Arts Centre, where it is the University's Quartet-in-Residence.
The Coull Quartet currently records for Somm Records, and their extensive discography includes the complete Schubert quartets and the complete Mendelssohn quartets. Their recording of Robert Simpson's Quartets Nos. 10 and 11 was highly recommended by the New York Times, The Coull Quartet's latest disc of quartets by Maw and Britten was 'Editor's Choice' in The Gramophone and was described as the 'Benchmark Recording' by BBC Music Magazine.
