Course Director Jerry
LanningThe full-time wind chamber music sessions are available for any ensemble applying as a pre-formed group.
Applications from individuals are also welcome and will be accommodated wherever possible. There are additional sessions for those who wish to explore larger ensembles,in which Jerry Lanning will also be involved, including Suite no.4 and Serenade Op.7 (Strauss), Serenade Op.44 (Dvorak), Old Wine in New Bottles (Jacob), Serenade in Bflat K.361 'Gran Partita' (Mozart), and Summer night on the River (Delius).
The course is suitable for wind players of all levels. Experienced players are free to concentrate on the wealth of wind chamber music. Less experienced players (from Grade 4) work in groups and concentrate on developing essential ensemble skills. This provides a valuable stepping stone for players wanting to gain enough experience to join an orchestra or pursue more advanced chamber music playing.
